Design and Construction Agreement, Tucson Modern Streetcar Project, Tucson, AZ
Project Description
The Tucson Modern Streetcar Project consists of approximately 3.9 miles of double track alignment connecting downtown Tucson and the University of Arizona.
The track alignment is generally street running with the overhead catenary system poles between the tracks. The Project will include renovation and reconstruction of those facilities directly impacted by streetcar construction including but not limited to pavement, sidewalks, driveways, curb and gutter, traffic signals, underground and overhead utilities, storm drains, street lights, and landscaping. Streetcar stops (21 total) are on either side of the roadway or center median platforms, depending on existing surroundings and street widths. Each stop will consist of a platform and include a stop shelter, canopy and amenities. A maintenance facility is included in the project.
SG&A Scope of Work/Challenges
SG&A was contracted by the City of Tucson to create a Design & Construction Agreement between the City and the University of Arizona.
Success Story
The work performed by SG&A was completed ahead of schedule and on budget.
